For many years, the extraction of marble blocks from our quarries in the Bergamo and Brescia Pre-Alps has been accompanied by the parallel production of large quantities of limestone aggregate, available throughout the year. The minimum order we accept is 25 tons and loading takes place at our aggregate materials depot, located at Via dei Marmi in Nuvolera (BS).

The limestone rock from the marble quarries has a very high calcium carbonate content, which allows its use in the following sectors:

  • Livestock – for the production of feed
  • Agri-food – for calcium intake and in sugar factories
  • Ecological – for the treatment of water and fumes
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical
  • Industrial – particularly for glass, paint, paper, cement and bituminous factories

The natural quarry mix (tout venant) consists of coarse gravels of predominantly calcareous mineralogical nature, which undergoes no selection. The main applications are high load-bearing foundation structures. Thanks to its granulometry and weight, it provides a solid base that helps prevent subsidence and erosion phenomena. It is used in various layers to ensure a uniform load distribution and excellent drainage, making it particularly suitable for soil stabilisation works, embankment consolidation and civil engineering works.

Clean tout venant is a product with very high calcium carbonate concentration, used for micronised products, granules, lime, plasters, premixes, animal feeds or by the sugar, glass and paper industries. Thanks to its excellent filtration properties, it is also used in filter beds for water treatment, where it removes suspended particles and sediments, improving water quality. It is used in biofiltration, encouraging the growth of beneficial bacteria that decompose organic matter, and in stormwater drainage systems to reduce runoff and retain contaminants.

Cyclopean boulders are a secondary product of marble processing. Our quarry boulders are ideal for building defence works for ports, coasts and canals, as well as retaining walls and containment works. As well as defending banks from water erosion, the large-dimension aggregates are used to contain water levels within water bodies and watercourses. Breakwater boulders find application in a wide range of uses: protection of lake shores and river embankments, wave energy dispersion, port and canal defence, slope stabilisation and containment retaining walls.
Thanks to their granulometry and high weight, they guarantee a uniform load distribution, excellent drainage and a lasting natural barrier against erosion and subsidence. Armourstone is available in various sizes, depending on project requirements.
